FAQs
What happens in an initial appointment? The first appointment at Intersoma focuses on building a therapeutic connection. It’s a space for asking questions, sharing concerns, and beginning a therapeutic plan. Hannah approaches this session with transparency, gentleness, and thoughtful inquiry to understand your needs.
Is what I share in session kept confidential?Yes, what clients share in session stays private and is not disclosed to others without consent. There are legal and ethical limitations to confidentiality which clients are made aware of prior to their initial appointment.
Are you Neuroaffirming?Yes. Hannah provides therapy that is affirming and responsive to all neurotypes. Hannah tailors each session to your unique needs, welcoming discussion of accommodations and preferences to create comfort and connection. Drawing on lived experience and professional experience, Hannah strives to meet each person/couple/family where they’re at, inclusive of the diverse range of needs clients present with.
What does Trauma-informed mean?A trauma-informed approach recognises that both the mind and body play a role in healing. It focuses on creating safety, trust, and choice, while supporting the nervous system to help you process and manage symptoms of trauma and dysregulation.
Do you take mental health care plans?Medicare rebates do not currently apply to psychotherapy in Australia. However, the cost of therapy at Intersoma is oftentimes on par with the ‘gap fee’ paid when utilising a Mental Health Care Plan to see a psychologist.
